Superb bowling spells from Dilhara Fernando (5/17) and Jacob Oram (3/16) set up an easy win for Uva Next over Basnahira Cricket Dundee (BCD) on Sunday night. The Thilina Kandamby led Uva Next crushed the Dilshan led BCD by 8 wickets with 10 balls to spare Batting first after winning the toss, BCD were kept down to 136 for 9. Opener Tillakaratne Dilshan was the top scorer again, coming up with a patient 56 (from 48 balls with 5 fours). Jeevan Mendis contributed 34 (from 28 balls with 2 fours and a six). For Uva Next, Jacob Oram checked the scoring in the initial overs to come up with figures of 4-1-16-3. Dilhara Fernano went a step ahead to wreck BCD completely with devastating figures of 5 for 17 in just 3 overs!
Uva Next eased to victory through an unbroken stand of 79 for the 3rd wicket between opener Upul Tharanga (65* from 53 balls with 8 fours) and Shoaib Malik (31* from 27 balls with a four and a six). As expected Dilhara Fernando got the Man of the Match award.
